Profile: Payment Policies of Some Paid-Post Brokers

Thanks you for visiting. Please consider subscribing to the RSS feed.

For the first post profiling the various sites, I thought I’d keep it simple and relevant to the whole "Bloggerwave isn’t paying its bills" fiasco from earlier this week.

Paid Post Brokers’ Payment Policies

SponsoredReviews set a pay date 14 days after my first post, then aggregated all payments for posts completed during that 14 days, including one posted only 5 days prior to the pay date.

PayPerPost: Pays 30 days after the post is completed. Payments are usually on time, although a weekend payment might come a day late, in my experience. This policy leads to a high transaction volume if you’re doing posts every day.

SponsoredReviews: Pays within 14 days after the post is complete. My payments were on time. For my first set of reviews, SponsoredReviews set a pay date 14 days after my first post, then aggregated all payments for posts completed during that 14 days, including one posted only 5 days prior to the pay date. High marks from me for this payment practice!

ReviewMe: Calculates payments on the first of the month for all posts completed during the prior month, and pays by the 4th. I did my first post for ReviewMe this month and will be able to evaluate this firsthand very soon. However, ReviewMe is run by the same folks as Text Link Ads (where you can get $100 in FREE Links), and I’ve been paid on time by TLA every month.

Smorty: Smorty pays the week following the week the post is completed. Note I said "the week following", not "a week following". Smorty’s payday is on Friday, Australia time, which was late Thursday night for my first payment. This means that if you complete a review on Monday, you’re paid the FOLLOWING Friday. Still really good.

LoudLaunch: I have no experience with LoudLaunch, because I’m not satisfied with the amount they pay for reviews on my blogs. For instance, purchased directly, I make $75 for a review on my poker blog, and I get adequate requests at that price point. I’ve set price points higher than this on Linkworth, SponsoredReviews, and ReviewMe, and have done posts for all three in the last month. Loudlaunch will only pay $10 flat rate.

Linkworth: Linkworth pays the month following the month in which the post is completed, usually by the 10th. You receive a single payment for all reviews completed during that prior month, similar to ReviewMe.

Bloggerwave: We’ve beat that one to death already, haven’t we? I’ve sent numerous e-mails and even a link to the earlier post, with no response at all. Good luck collecting, folks.

So, there you have my experience. If you’ve had a different experience, PLEASE leave a comment so other readers will know who the good guys are and who the bad guys are. Additionally, this list does not represent the universe of paid-post brokers, only those brokers I’ve signed up with personally. If you’re having good or bad experiences with other brokers, please leave a comment or send an e-mail to bsnblogs - yahoo - com.

5/24/07 UPDATE:

PayPerPost adds similar model as ReviewMe, with lower commissions.
