Too many lawyers got involved. Like, one.
Wow, there’s been quite a brouhaha over at the PayPerPost boards this past week. PayPerPost implemented a new TOS, but failed to notify bloggers. It was simply discovered by a lone blogger.
Long story short: PayPerPost is becoming more like a big company. Lots of dumb stuff in the new TOS will be redlined, acccording to management. Too many lawyers got involved. Like, one.
I’m wondering if this dumb clause will be taken out:
You may not issue any press release or other public statement regarding the Agreement, PayPerPost, its Parent and/or their Affiliates without PayPerPost’s prior written consent.
Good thing I’m an affiliate and most of the PayPerPost links here are affiliate links. That means I have permission. Kinda silly for a company in the business of generating viral buzz putting restrictions on who can talk about them, though.
I’m just saying.
