Yeah, I’m fishing for compliments, so sue me. I worked hard to figure out how to create those images. I’m using Gimp, an open source competitor to Photoshop. Photoshop. I’ve only used Photoshop Elements before, and it was definitely more user-friendly, but that’s what Elements is all about - taking the most popular and widely-used parts of Photoshop and making them available for the masses. Gimp definitely has a learning curve, and the floating windows take a little time to get used to.
But, Photoshop is something like $450 and Gimp is free. Worth the effort, in my opinion.
Of course, I could’ve just made it easy on myself and paid someone $100 to do that for me in just a couple minutes, but what fun is that?
Hey, if anyone knows how to create cut-out text, could you point me in the right direction? I have an idea for a new header for my Florida Sun Dog site, for when I move it over to WP and my new host this weekend, and it would be awesome if I can pull it off. I’m picturing something like an old Florida postcard, if that gives you an idea.
