Great customer service from a web host? Who knew?

Sorry I’ve been gone for several days, but I’ve been trying to run down the intermittent errors that were occurring across my domains. I thought it might have been related to some combination of incompatibilities with plugins, themes, and Wordpress 2.3, but nothing I tried made a difference. All the research and forums I checked indicated that it was a server issue, so I contacted Bluehost, the best hosting company I’ve been with. A couple support tickets back and forth, always answered promptly, confirmed that it was a server issue, so I placed call last night figuring Sunday night would be a good time to catch them when they weren’t busy.
I was wrong.
I stuck with the wait in customer service, explained the issue and gave the support guy my ticket number and he confirmed again that there was an issue. But here’s where they proved to me how much they care - no hand-off, no trying to convince me it was my problem, no requests to pay money - none of the crap GoDaddy (the hosting company from HELL!) pulled with me. The guy got someone else involved but stayed on the line with me, giving me updates. He even read my blog while we were waiting!
He also shared with me that they usually have 50 people working at night, but were down to 5 due to the holiday - and he was sticking with me while the problem was being handled right away! I’m sorry, but that kind of customer service has to be applauded!
Finally, he said they’d narrowed in on the problem and would have it resolved within 45 minutes - not 2 hours, 4 hours, 3-5 days - and I could go ahead and hang up. Fifteen minutes later I got an email letting me know the issue was resolved, and lo and behold it seems to be.
