I was having a hard time deciding if I should go with the title you see or go with “Social Media Eating Google’s Lunch”
In the end, I went for whimsy.
Also, comparing search and social media is really an apples-to-oranges comparison. There’s a lot of people that are proclaiming social media as a competitor to Google, but they’re really not thinking very hard. Social media can drive traffic. But Search is about a visitor making a specific inquiry and receiving a result. In a sense, social media pushes visitors to a website, while search pulls.Anyway, because I’m a pathetic blogger that has sold page links and reviews, I don’t get many visitors. So, today is a first for me in terms of traffic on a single blog.
Of course, that’s what happens when you post about and amateur singer whose fifteen minutes of fame was up two years ago, offering a cop a blowjob to release her. You know, quality content, content, content. People go my site because I have much more integrity now than when I was posting about a Pirate Dinner Show in Orlando, on a blog about Florida, with considerable travel/tourism content.
