IZEARanks.com is now open to the general public

Izea has opened up the latest component of what will be known as SocialSpark today by opening IZEARanks.com to the general public.
Some key points:
- IZEARanks is only open to Blogs, so the ranking is relative to other blogs.
- Realrank is at the core of IZEARanks, and the algorithm is public knowledge and can be found at the post linked above.
- You do not need to be a participant in PayPerPost/IZEA to take part in IZEARanks. In fact, by adding more “outside” blogs, PPP bloggers will have a more true rank.
Nice to see IZEA rolling out these components.
I always like to see a small group of people determined to create a reality conducive to achieving their goals. From time to time, I have had private and public disagreements with PPP/IZEA, but I’ve also been a champion of their business model. I can remember saying, “You’re changing everything” to Ted Murphy and Peter Wright after seeing an early preview of what is to become SocialSpark back in July. I also remember matter-of-factly Ted just smiling and nodding, with no arrogance or excessive pride.
At the risk of exposing myself as an even bigger geek than I already have, I also remember thinking “Kobayashi Maru”: When presented with a no-win situation, Kirk reset the conditions of the exercise. I can’t help but see the same thing occurring at IZEA.
