The man behind the curtain is making progress
Thanks you for visiting. Please consider subscribing to the RSS feed.In two tests, I started removing plugins and checking to see if I had the error. I deactivated the following plugins with no effect:
Google Sitemaps XML
Blogroll Autolinker
Get Recent Comments
Then, I removed “If You Liked That”, the theory begin that this makes use of the categories, […]

The man behind the curtain is hard at work again
Things may be fluid around here for the next few weeks. I’ve upgraded to WP 2.3, but I didn’t know what I didn’t know and something isn’t compatible. If you click on the single-post view you will see an error. According to the WP forums, it’s an incompatibility with a plugin or the theme. I’m […]

So, what do you think of the new header?
Yeah, I’m fishing for compliments, so sue me. I worked hard to figure out how to create those images. I’m using Gimp, an open source competitor to Photoshop. Photoshop. I’ve only used Photoshop Elements before, and it was definitely more user-friendly, but that’s what Elements is all about - taking the most popular and widely-used […]

Need a little technical advice
You might have noticed that I changed the default text header to a graphic image. Looks great in Firefox on a flatscreen monitor. But in IE6, I see a purple box around the image representing the link to the homepage. I’ve changed the CSS to show the link as black, so it’s still there but […]

Status
The restore from the last backup is complete. Next, I’ll be updating the posts done since then, and rebuilding what comments I can. Themes and plugins come afterwards.
Friggin’ GoDaddy…
I’m playing in a poker tournament with the poker bloggers tonight. My soul needs it. Losing this site took the wind out of my sails, and I […]

Yes, GoDaddy screwed me again
No calls, no follow-ups to the "escalation" of issues surrounding the deletion/restore of my site.
I reloaded Wordpress on my own, and will load my back-up files from a week ago tonight. Then, re-post my salvaged posts from the intervening week.
Again.
This weekend, the search for a new host begins in earnest. I already have a couple […]

Too much drama
Ok, it looks like I’ve recovered the posts. Still no comments, though. If anyone has some bright ideas, let me know.
Lesson learned: Export your posts to an xml file at whatever frequency you’re comfortable with doing back-ups. I believe it will save comments as well, but I’m not sure - I’ll find out, though.
If you’ve […]

Continuing to have issues
If you were here earlier you saw that I’ve lost everything. Godaddy says it’s my fault. Maybe. Maybe not.
I have a plan for rebuild, I’m just ironing out a few more technical issues with the set-up before reloading the posts.
